As a family of four and two of which who are forever growing boys! Our weekly shops are always big ones.
Luckily for us, we have recently partnered up with the lovely folk at Hoover to review the amazing Hoover H-Fridge Freezer 500 Maxi and I absolutely love it!

Prior to receiving our new side-by-side refrigerator, we had two separate units. It just wasn’t efficient to run both and especially now, in times like these where every penny counts!
The H-Fridge 500 Maxi has an energy rating of E which makes it more energy efficient and cheaper to run than most UK cooling products.

With that in mind, here are five more fantastic features that we love about the H-Fridge 500 Maxi.

5 Fantastic Features That We Love About The Hoover Fridge 500 Maxi.

1. Huge Storage Capacity

The storage inside the H-Fridge 500 Maxi is phenomenal! The refrigerator side is a whopping 344 litres. This makes it fantastic for not only storing the weekly shopping but also for storing larger things.
With Christmas just around the corner, I’m starting to plan our Christmas shops. I have always struggled to store the turkey (which I always buy much too big!) as well as all of the chilled party foods. However, this is no longer a problem! The freezer side is a little smaller at 185 litres. Do not be fooled by the numbers though. I have got more frozen food in this freezer than I ever had in my old appliance.
I am so happy with the extra space that this fridge freezer provides.

2. Less Food Waste

The freezer section has only two drawers at the bottom which is a new concept for me. Until I emptied my old freezer I didn’t realise just how much food had gone to waste. Bags of food that had fallen to the back of the drawers and were trapped in a sort of permafrost! No such problem now though as all of my food is laid out on shelves which makes it so much easier to see what I have. It even makes it easier to organise my shopping lists as a cursory glance is all that is required to see what I am missing. The refrigerated side is equally as impressive. With four adjustable shelves and two huge drawers along with three door shelves, the days of rummaging in the fridge are long gone, resulting in even less food falling past its best while hidden from view.

3. Encourages More Water Consumption

I am always nagging encouraging my boys (and my husband) to drink more water. Bottled water is more convenient but, like everyone, we are trying to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics. I have had a water filter in the fridge for a while now and use that for both drinking through the day and filling reusable bottles when we are out on our travels. The only problem is trying to find somewhere for the massive water filter to live in the refrigerator! No such problem anymore as the H-Fridge 500 Maxi has a built-in water dispenser on the fridge door. It is also a non-plumbed water dispenser so no instalation is needed.
I simply filter the water and pour it directly into the storage tank. The water is then accessed through the dispenser on the front of the refrigerator door. It is a total game changer for me and one of those things that I really do not know how I coped without it.
It also makes drinking more water appealing to my boys. Long may it continue!

4. Customisable Settings

The display on the refrigerator door is super sleek and offers all of the controls for both the refrigerator and freezer. You can adjust the temperature of the fridge and the freezer independently. The AI function automatically controls the temperature of both compartments depending on the ambient temperature of the room. There is a quick freeze function which drops the freezer to the lowest temperature possible for six hours before returning to the preprogrammed temperature or AI control allowing you to quickly freeze fresh foods. There is a holiday setting which turns the fridge compartment off completely but keeps the freezer at the required temperature. Saving energy if you are away from home for a long period of time with no fresh food in the appliance.

5. Total No Frost Technology

The H-Fridge 500 Maxi from Hoover has No Frost technology which means just that. There is no frost. The way that the air is circulated around the compartments results in minimal frost build-up. This results in less time spent defrosting and cleaning the compartments as well as fresher frozen food.

I could continue to name many more fab features! I am so impressed with the practicality and efficiency of the H-Fridge 500 Maxi. It is going to serve us well for many years to come.

  20. I really like your new fridge freezer. I love that there are no freezer drawers. I also like that it’s to the side. I cannot access our freezers because I can’t bend and open the drawers, this would be perfect for me. Sadly, we only bought a new fridge freezer last year, but when we get around to replacing the other one (family of 7) this could be a contender.

  44. That is such an amazing fridge/freezer! Its huge! I wish we had space in our tiny kitchen for one this big, but unfortunately not. I would love to have such a huge space to be able to batch cook and store meals.

  52. I’d love a fridge freezer like that, one of the many down sides to renting a home is you have very little input on white goods. Our current fridge is far too small for our family and is stuffed full, finding anything is a nightmare.

  54. This is my ideal fridge freezer! I’m not sure we’ve got the space for something this size but I love the storage capacity for those big shops and the water dispenser (we’re always refilling our glasses!) This is definitely one for the wish list.

  101. This looks amazing, you are so lucky to get to try it out. All of the drawers in my current freezer have broken fronts which are taped up with parcel tape. Not very attractive and not very effective either! This one looks so smart. I have fridge and freezer envy!
