5 Living Room Ideas On A Budget
Doing up your home can be an expensive job, but there are ways to freshen up a room without going over budget. Using the existing furnishings, be a little creative and with a couple of small purchases, you can achieve a high-end look with little cost.
Here are 5 living room ideas that can be done on a budget.
A Pop Of Colour
Sometimes all you need is a change of colour to inject new life into a room. If you really want to stick tightly to your budget, you could buy a smaller pot of paint and just paint one wall to create a feature wall.
Choose bold blues to make a statement or neutral tones for a contemporary vibe.
Candles
Candles are a really inexpensive way to add style to a living room and they instantly make a room more welcoming too. Use different heights of candles to create a fun display, or cluster for a super cosy display.
Candlelit fireplaces also make a living room look inviting and sets a snuggly ambience for when you hunker down to watch a movie.

Rearrange
Simply having a move around and rearranging your existing furniture can really transform your living room. When you start to move the furniture around you will most probably discover corners and spaces that could be utilised in a more conventional way.
Just by moving the sofa or putting the coffee table somewhere different can make the room feel fresh and revived.

Lighting
I’m a big fan of fairy lights all year round. I have some really pretty warm white lights around my fireplace and it looks so cosy. You could get some really cheap battery-powered lights and pop them in a mason jar, or trail them across a shelf for a homely glow.

Add Some Greenery
House plants, cut flowers or artificial blooms spread a little cheer in any room. You could use some existing flowers that you have in another room of the house or buy one for as little as a couple of pounds. There are a huge variety of faux flowers, from cute potted succulents to hanging grasses. You could even make your own macrame plant holder.

Do you have any room makeovers planned?

Great ideas!
In every room we have decorated here we have just added a bit of colour and it has made such a difference.
I have my candles all around the fire and when there are a few lit it does look so cosy. x
Some lovely ideas! I love those rose fairy lights!
We could do with giving our living room a makeover at some point. I like the idea of rearranging the furniture to see how much of a difference that makes. We have throws and covers over our sofas so sometimes I just change the colour of the throw or cover which can help make a difference too. #MMBC
I heard someone say on the TV the other day that you should move all your furniture into the centre of the room and then place them back wherever you think is most suitable, if it’s the same place then they were meant to be there, but it can also give you a chance to give your room a whole new look without buying anything or decorating. Thinking back to when I was younger, this is something I would do regularly with my bedroom. These days, my go to ideas, are candles and cushions.
I love to “shop my house” and re-arrange decor for new looks. Good ideas! #MMBC
I’ve been adding more greenery in the house and it really has been a good move. Draws the eye every time. #mmbc
