The room has the ability to totally change the way your mind operates and keep you on an even keel. It’s the perfect antidote to a week of work in a job that you don’t like.

Pocketed Shower Curtain

For some reason that is totally unexplainable, shower cubicles regularly come lacking any form of shelf space whatsoever. Many of us wind up trying to balance our soap and other items on the hot/cold dials. 

The conventional solution is to install a tray or shelf, either on the shower unit itself or next to it on the wall. However, these are expensive and, unless you know what you are doing, difficult to implement. 

Pocketed shower curtains are an ingenious solution. Here, you just place your shower items in various pouches built into the shower fabric and away you go. It’s that simple. 

Vanity Drawer Organiser

While you might put the odd big item, like a towel, in your vanity drawers, it’s rare. Most of the time, they’re full of smaller items, such as medications, hair brushes, makeup removal pads, scissors and so on. 

Instead of just dumping them in your drawers with no thought to organisation, add drawer organisers. These are just little plastic tubs that slot into drawers and prevent everything from jiggling around. 

Spa Bath Pillow

You can kick back in the bath without a pillow and feel comfortable, but the experience is infinitely better when you have somewhere soft to rest your head. That’s where spa bath pillows come into the picture. These offer orthopaedic support when reclining, making the bathing experience more comfortable, particularly if you have spinal support issues. 

Toothpaste Tube Wringers

The vast majority of people do not use all of the toothpaste in the tube when trying to squeeze it out with their thumbs. Instead, quite a bit of it remains in the tube, going to waste. 

With toothpaste tube wringers, you can prevent this from happening. All you do is place the end of the tube in a clip and then wind the crank when you want to release toothpaste. There’s no more squeezing, making it a great option for kids’ bathrooms. 

Extra-Coverage Showerhead

Most shower heads provide you with a slim jet of water. But there’s no reason things have to be this way. It’s just a convention. 

What’s more, only having a small amount of coverage is actually a negative for some people. You want to feel like you’re getting drenched when you are in the shower. 

That’s where extra-coverage shower heads come into play. Instead of having dozens of holes, these have just two or three. Water comes out in a wide fan-like spray pattern, increasing the total area covered by water. 

Toilet Paper Stand

Most people store their spare toilet roll either on top of the lavatory itself, in the medicine cabinet, or on the bathroom window sill. It’s low effort, but looks messy and can detract from the bathroom experience. After all, was there ever a show bathroom with rolls of toilet paper lying around? 

Toilet paper stands are an attractive, yet practical solution. Premium models are essentially metal cages for toilet paper, with extra features, such as trays to keep your phone. You can easily place these next to the lavatory, storing up to four rolls of toilet paper, without harming the aesthetics in your bathroom. 

LED Vanity Lights

The wonderful thing about LEDs is that they can emit any colour you want. Because of this, you can change the hue in your bathroom, depending on your needs. If you’re putting on makeup in the morning, for example, you can choose bright white light to accurately see the colours on your face. Then, if you are taking a relaxing bath in the evening, you can switch to a dimmer, redder colour. 

You can also pair LEDs with dimmer switches. This is a great option for people whose eyes are sensitive to bright light in the morning. 

Memory Foam Bath Mats

Memory foam is finding its way into all sorts of products, thanks to its ability to provide comfort for the feet. It’s soft, absorbent, and often what is missing in your bathroom. 

Now there’s a new range of memory foam bath mats on the market. These protect your feet against the cold floor and stay in place as you walk over them, preventing slippage. They are also waterproof, keeping the foam inside in good condition long-term. 

Motion Sensor Lights

Safety concerns mean that bathroom lights must have a pull cord, not a switch. However, with motion sensor lights, you can avoid needing any such device in your bathroom. You simply move in their vicinity and they turn on.

What’s more, you can place motion sensor lights wherever you want in your bathroom because they are so easy to stick to the wall. Put them next to your sink, your bath, or your shower unit. 

Motion sensor lights turn on and then automatically switch off again if they don’t detect any additional movement for, say fifteen minutes. 

Canvas Cotton Laundry Bag

Many people disrobe in the bathroom from their dirty clothes before getting in the shower. However, most people keep their laundry bags in their bedrooms, forcing them to wrap themselves in towels to preserve their dignity or carry dirty clothes around with them. 

The solution to this is to get a canvas cotton laundry bag with a hook that fixes to the back of the bathroom door. Once it’s full of dirty clothes, you can unhook the bag and take it to your laundry room. 

Bathroom Caddy

Having a caddy for things like bubble bath, toothbrushes, floss and flannels can be extremely helpful. These little organisers keep everything neatly arranged while also making them accessible. 

Some caddies are more specialist than others, so you’ll have to think carefully about what you really need. Bigger families will need more space for items than smaller ones. 

Efficient Electric Toothbrush

Electric toothbrushes are not gimmicks. They actually work better than regular toothbrushes for lifting plaque and tartar from your teeth. 

If you can afford it, get a rechargeable model. Replacing the batteries every couple of months on a standard electric toothbrush is a hassle and pushes up your costs over the long term.
